Hellenistic town "Lysias" founded ca 200 BC became an episcopal see in the Roman province of Phrygia Salutaris. Exact location of the town is uncertain. Earlier Lysias was located north-northeast of the Efekoy or southesat of Synnada between Arizi and Oynagan[Oynigan] villages. according to the Flavian conventus civium romanorum Lysias belonged to the conventus of Apamea1.
