Wadi Qassouba

Wadi Qassouba, and the related hill about 1 km. east of Byblos is an extended archaeological site. At the western end, there are indications of what may have been the ancient port of Byblos¹.². Further east, around the church Saydet Qassouba, there was a large necropolis, and a Roman era temple on the hill. Inscriptions have been recorded, and some material is in Beirut museum, but a great deal of material was removed from the site, both during the Middle Ages and recently, so that very little appears to remain today³.
