The scanty remains of ancient Lopadion located at Uluabat village, west of Apolyont Lake (Uluabat Lake), 4 km east of Karacabey district of Bursa. It is first mentioned by Theodore of Stoudios (759-826) in one of his early-ninth century letters, as the site of a xenodocheion (caravanserai) which was built next to a strategic bridge over the River Ryndakos.
