Suhbechi Church is located in the Tao region, 4 kilometers north of the village of Ishan, called Kargiela, at an altitude of approximately 1800 meters above sea level. Since the church, which remains in ruins today, does not have an inscription, its construction date is unknown. Georgian historian and archaeologist Ekvtime Takaishvili saw and described the church in 1917. Takaishvili examines the 5th and 6th centuries of the church through its structural features.
