Kuhandaz - Tall-e Bangiyan

Attested Achaemenid and probable hellenistic, parthian and sasanian settlement. Probable site of Artacoana, the oldest establishment of Herat. Later absorbed in the Kart and Timurid city. Today a mound of 3,7 ha, corresponding to an enclosed cemetery.
