Annotations

The church, carved into the rock with a rectangular plan, is reached by a two-step staircase. The main place of tha church measures 3.40×5.10 meters and narrows partially towards the apse. There are cells on both sides of the apse, which are reached by a passage. It is understood that these cells are pastaphorion cells. According Özkaya  the Urartian tombs were later converted into churches. However, Çevik, who later did research in the region, stated that these structures were Byzantine churches.
