The ruins of the ancient city of Magarsos located 5 km west of today's Karataş. According to a legend, the Trojan warrior Mapsos from Misis, returning to Cilicia (Çukurova) after fighting in Troy, brought his Greek friend Anflakos with. The two warriors founded the ancient city of Magarsus together. Struggling to be the sole ruler, Mapsos and Anflakos fight to the death. The war that lasted 3 months resulted in the death of Anflakos. Mapsos, who was seriously wounded, did not live long.
