Annotations

A few wall fragments and a portion of the stone floor of a building 50 m long with a width greater than 25 m , oriented N-S, consisting of at least 4 rooms of considerable size facing a long corridor arranged on the W side, have been documented. Further east, a portico characterized by a series of sandstone column bases, which must have supported brick columns (only one preserved), came to light. This portico developed parallel to a wall foundation also made of sandstone blocks that has partially spoliated buttresses and, toward the south, a stone threshold forming a basal step of an entrance staircase. To the east of that threshold a probable room with pinkish limestone slab flooring has been identified . In Late Antiquity the building underwent a phase of dismantling and destruction with the removal of most of the walls, floors and parietal marble slabs. The northern sector remained active in which a series of fire structures were identified, probably used for ironworking, given the discovery of metal slag. Further investigations were carried out by the University of Verona under ministerial concession (2010-2013).
