Near ancient Uruk, the archaeologically area includes fields, small settlements and old canals. The boat was found during the systematic documentation of the Uruk-Warka environment in 2018. It was an almost completely preserved boat made of reed, palm leaves, wood, and completely coated with bitumen. The organic parts are no longer preserved and are only visible as imprints in the bitumen. It was seven meters long.
