Pirot Höyük - İkiz Höyük

data access 77207

Pirot Höyük or İkiz Höyük (since it has two cones) is approximately 42 km east of Malatya. It is a mound in the east. It took its name from the village of Kıyıcak (pirot or pirut), which is located in its immediate vicinity.

There are XII inhabitation layers. The earliest are the Late Chalcolithic Age  XI and XII. Level XII yields Ubaid-like sherds.

At present, the mound has been flooded by the reservoir waters of the Karakaya Dam
