Mu`allak the ruined Byzantine town Mu, as described H. C. Butler in his report of the Princeton University Archaeological Expeditions to Syria in 1899-1900, was situated at the eastern doot of the Jabal al- Hass on both sides of a stream. The remains of the town were then covered with sand. Nevertheless he described three churches and some remains of an aquaeduct.
