Burunucu Kale at Demircihali villege was discovered during a survey on the "Turkish Fortresses" conducted in 1995 by I.H. Kurtulus in the Thrace Region. It is located at Burunucu Mevkii in the Demircihalil Village, north of Kirklareli. Erected on a high hill, the fortress was surrounded with walls on the west, north and east sides.. Only the southern and souteastern part of wall preserved. The walls have been demolished and spreaded. On the northwest part preserved traces of stairways, carved into the rock leading down to the river. It was reported that the ruins belong to a Thracian fortress.
