Annotations

W.M. Ramsay first named the site as Midas in the late 19th century and indicated that it was surrounded by a defence wall. The excavations on the plateau yielded remains of a only one settlement phase dated to the 5th-4th BC - Late Phrygian Period. This time Anatolia was under the Persian Empire domination. Setllement was suddenly aboundoned at the late 4th century BC,
