Annotations

Hoard was found in the central area of the acropolis (kerameikos) during the archaeological excavations of september 6, 1968. Inside a rough vase were found: a necklace of gold and glass paste; 

534 silver coins of Roman-republican age, including 302 denarii and 232 quinarii.

The coins are dated from 229 to 73 a.Chr.n, in particular for the period from 100 to 80 a.Chr.n. The hoard was buried around 73-71 a.Chr.n.  in currency with the Spartacus raids in the territories of southern Lucania.
