The mammoth ivory figurine Venus of Brassempouy was discovered in the Pope's Cave in 1892. Currenty sculpture is housed in the Musée d'Archéologie Nationale at Saint-Germain-en-Laye, near Paris. The sculpture is 36.5 mm high, 22 mm deep and 19 mm wide. It was curved ca 25000 BC and belongs to the Upper Paleolithic Gravettian art.
