Annotations

Late Hitite funerary stele of a wine merchant and his wife dates to the late IX century, early VIII century BC. Orhmann`s Maraş A/1. Stele is about 1 meter heigh and 56 cm wide. The Adana Couple plastically depicts two figures putting their arms on each other's shoulders. The left is a male figure of merchant, with beard, and a bunch of grapes  in his left hand. The right female figure holds in her hand a mirror. Adana couple stele was uncovered in Yürükselim. Currenty is in Adana, Museum Inv. 1755.
