Mallos/Mallus was an ancient city of Cilicia, which, according to tradition, was founded in the Trojan times by the soothsayers Mopsus and Amphilochus. -Near the Pyramus is Mallus, situated upon a height; it was founded by Amphilochus, and Mopsus, the son of Apollo, and Mantus, about whom many fables are related1. Mallos in Cilicia near Pyramos is one of the four ancient settlements called Mallos in Anatolia.
According Pausanias in the second century AD: there is at Mallus in Cilicia an oracle of his which is the most trustworthy of my day.2
