The fortress “Buzovo Kale” is situated 2 km to the south of the village. Its total area is about 170 acres. The coins found there, dating from the time of Emperor Constantine the Great (306 – 337 AD), the fragments from early Byzantine ceramics (5th – 4th century), and also some ceramics from 12th – 14th century, show that the fortress existed as early as the beginning of the Byzantine epoch and was used until the late Middle Ages. Probably the fortress was destroyed after the Turkish invasion of the Kazanlak Valley.
