Ancient Gerga (Gergas) also possibly known as Leukai Stelai was a town of ancient Caria located in Çine District, Aydın Province, ca 13 km northwest of the ancient city of Alabanda. Locally known as Gâvurdamları or Gâvurpazarı.There are traces indicating that the history of the city dates back to the archaic period. The ruins still seen in the site belong to the archaic period and the Roman period. Gerga is an important center reflecting the Carian culture. The name Gerga is stated as a city in the sources and it is also stated that it may belong to a local god.
The site is available from Alabayir Village few kilometers away.
