This original Gallic Oppidum was reworked during the Roman conquest. It was certainly a military camp. The bank of the Omignon serves as a natural defense to the east and the marshes which follow the general slope of the land. It has roughly the shape of a rectangle with rounded corners 450 m long by 350 m wide, and an area of 15 ha.
