The Narmer Palette, discovered by James E. Quibell in the 1897-1898 season at Hierakonpolis in  the Temple of Horus at Nekhen.  Pharao Narmer wears the crown of Upper Egypt on one side of the palette, andon the other side he wears the crown of Lower Egypt .
