Ruins if the early Christian monastery are the mountains ca. 10 km southwest of the centre of Edessa - Urfa. This monastic complex contains a mausoleum and a monastery of Mar Jacob - Saint Jacob. According inscriptions one in Greek and the other in Syriac this complec could be dated to the late IInd or IIIrd century. It is localy  known as the "Throne of Nemrut".
