Annotations

The temple of Artemis Astias the local goddes of Iasus dates to the late archaic period. The titel is known from the inscriptions. There was a statue of Artemis (by the famous sculptors Boupalos and Athenis) standing in the open air, according to Polybius and no snow nor rain ever falls on the statue.
The oldest building ia small templum in antis (8 x 17 m)
