Gravestone of a Legionairy from the 2nd Augustan Legion of the Claudian conquest of Britain. Found in the rubble of the town wall .As this Legion was commanded by Vespasian, it gives stong evidence that the fort here was built under the direction of the future Emperor. The stone may be seen at the Oxfordshire Museum.
