Site inhabited from Late Neolithic / Early Chalcolithic right up to the end of the Byzantine period. In the earlier layer was unearthed a megaron-like structures as seen in Troy and other Western Anatolian Early Bronze Age architecture. Hacimusalar was discovered in 1949 by M.S.F. Hood and M. Mellink.
