Annotations

Kuşaklı ancient Sarissa is located 4 km west of Başören village in Sivas Province. The written sources in Hattusa allocate Sarissa in the "Upper Land" of Hatti. Hittite town was fortified. There were gates at the four corners of walls.At tje NW gate was pool or dam dates to 1530 BC. In the south-west part of the town was sanctuary.
