Greek Adraa,  in Alten Testament Edrei, modern Daraa is an ancient city dating back to the Canaanites. According to the biblical tradition, Edreï was a city of the Amorite King Og. In Egyptian sources, in hieroglyphic tablets at the time of the Pharaoh Thutmose III, as the city of Atharaa was mentioned.
