Annotations

The city of Jericho developed in oasis around an abundant spring near the Jordan River in the West Bank. The  Natufian hunter-gatherers started the regular inhabitation ca 10500 BC.Ca 8500 thr settlement became a village surrounded by a 6m wall with an 8m tower. At the beginning of the third millennium a fortified city arose.
