Underwater remains of a basilica church dedicaterd to St. Neophytos The basilica was discovered by aerial photography, but the place is mentioned in ancient sources that  basilica was built on behalf of Saint Neophytoswhos, was killed by a Roman soldier on the shores of Lake Iznik.1 . It is in a basilica plan and has three naves. The church’s remains are similar to the Hagia Sophia in İznik. That is why it estimated to haven been built in the fifth century A.D.
