The ancient city of  Hamaxia is located in Elikesik Village

Strabo mentions the city as a place where timber was obtained for shipbuilding and was particularly rich in cedar trees. It is believed that the city was inhabited before Rome, and according to inscriptions it acquired the status of a city only in the 3rd century BC. The fact that some of the inscriptions found in the city engraved the emblem of Hermes, the Caduceus, proves the existence of a temple belonging to Hermes here.[ The structure, which is most likely a tower built with rectangular stones at the top, bears the features of the Hellenistic period.
