Annotations

King Hekatomnus Mausoleum was constructed by Maussollos, son of Satrap Hekatomnos whose name was given to the dynasty, upon the latter's sudden death within the first quarter of 4th century BC. It consists of Temenos Wall, Menandros Column, the podium, and the mausoleum, bearing room, burial room, sarcophagus and dromos – entrance passage leading to the tomb.
