Attalea (Antalya)

Attaleia. Modern Antalya. Was originally founded by Attalus II in 160 BC as a port for Perge. The city lost its territory in 79 BC as a punishment for its support of pirates based in the area. Became a Roman colony in the third Century AD.¹.
