Ainos [Enez]

Ancient Ainos iis located to the south of the mouth of the Hebrus River (modern name Meriç). The city was formerly called Poltyobria, after Poltys, the legendary king of Thrace. In ancient sources, in Iliad is listed as Aenus¹.
