Bergoulai was a small town, which was later on called Arcadiopolis (Lüleburgaz) .Emperor Theodosius I (347-395) changed it to Arcadiopolis (Greek: Αρκαδιούπολις) in honour of his son and successor Arcadius (377-408). In 443 Attila the Hun( c.406-453) captured the town.
