The castle that is in a controlling position of the valley it is located in and of the other plains was populated during the Hellenistic, late Roman and Byzantine periods. Among the ruins there are bastions, watch towers, cistern, necropolis area, chapel and a rock carved stairs climbing down to the stream that is at east side. There are depictions of a club on the towers at southwest and southeast sides. There is an eagle relievo on a block stone with a niche. The rock graves on its necropolis are decorated with various relievos.
