Scholars claim that this bridge belongs to the Rum Sultanate of Seljuks or early Ottomans. But around 200 m north of this bridge there are ruins of an earlier Roman bridge. The route of the ancient Roman road passes through here, so Turks must have constructed a new bridge on the same route.
