Iron Age, Achaemenid, early Hellenistic and Mauryan archaeological site of Taxila, after its relocation from Hathial Mound. Excavated by J. Marshall (1913-1925), M. Wheeler (1944-5) and M. Sharif (1966-7).

Hellenistic city, identified with the Indo-Greek Taxila, founed by Demetrius I. Probably rebuilt by Menander I. Later occupied by Indo-Scythians and Indo-Parthians. Abandoned during Kushan rule. Excavated by J. Marshall (1913-1925) & M. Wheeler (1944-5).
