To supply the old Pisa town fresh water in 92 d.C an aqueducts was built. The water was taken in from the valley near Corliano where a fistula should be located. The fistula was not found in 2014, please add info!! The acqueduct is thought to run from this valley via Caldaccoli and Gello toward Pisa where it should have ended in the Bagni di Nerone.
Nowadays only one pilar is visible from the public road.
The bricks used for the houses in a small street nearby show remarkable resemblance to the bricks used in the aqueduct. Is the aqueduct used to built these?
