Cairo's famous museum of antiquities focuses on Egypt's national past. After the glory days of the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms, there is comparatively little attention for the Libyan, Nubian, and Assyrian periods. There's quite a bit on the Twenty-Seventh Dynasty, only a half room about the Achaemenid age, and again a bit more about the Ptolemies and Romans.

Photography is forbidden. There are some books for sale with photos of the inevitable doctor Zahi Hawass, though.
