On the lintel of the door, five inscriptions in Palmyrene mention the establishment of this hypogeum by the three brothers (Male, Saadi and Naamain), in the middle of the 2nd century A.D. It includes 3 exedras with 65 bays, each with 6 recesses. At the back of the westen exedra, frescoes in Graeco-Syrian style represent the legend of Achilles and the Troyan wars. Winged women (Victories) are standing on spheres and raising their arms to support circular medaillions including the Effigies of the dead.The abdication of Ganymedes is portrayed in a circular framework. In the right exedra are the remains of three beautiful sarcophagi. The sarcophagus of Male is in the left exedra1.
