Annotations

The "large" temple1, Aliquot's "Grand Sanctuaire (C)". There are similarities both to structures at Palmyra and to the temples at Chhim and Niha. The attribution to Adonis appears to be wholly uncertain. A small altar with a dedicatory inscription to Zeus Heliopolitanus found in the cella also cannot be taken as necessarily giving a firm dedication to the temple2.
