The Zeus Temple assumed to be built by Seleukos Nikator I (358-281 BC) has important place in the history of art as one of the ancient temples, considering its peripteros plan and that is sorrounded at four winds by 36 Corinth collonnades on a single row. The temple that was used by the Romans. Later it was turned into a church with some modifications in the 5th;Iits cella was destructed, its columnar spaces were closed by doors, the columns in the east end were replaced by apse.
