Lange tijd was er discussie of het hier Myos Hormos betrof (1993, Peacock) of toch Leukos Limen, volgens de suggestie van Whitcomb en Johnson in 1979.1 Opgravingen in de omgeving van Quseir al-Qadïm leverden echter de bewijzen dat er hier sprake is van Myos Hormos.2
