Bathoneia was an ancient city that flouorished during Byzantine times. Tekin rejects the suggestion that this ancient site was a certain Bathonea. Tekin, quoting from the articles of the previous academic, says that Bathonea is a hekatostys name in Byzantium, not a city, kome or any toponymic1
