Seleucia was an ancient Greek city on the Mediterranean coast of Pamphylia, in Anatolia. It is  placed 15 km north of Manavgat, c. 1 km north of the village of Bucakşeyhler. The ancient city was founded by Seleucus I Nicator (c. 358-281 BC ), one of the generals of Alexander the Great. Seleukeia was erected on the south side of a hilltop with steep cliffs on three sides. The south side was protected with the city wall.
