Cyrrhus (Κύρρος): ancient town in northern Syria, base of the Tenth legion Fretensis. http://www.livius.org/ct-cz/cyrrhus/cyrrhus.html.

Ancient town Cyrrus was located in the North Syria at the crossroads between Antioch and inner Syria. It was founded by Seleucus I Nicator (c. 358 BC – 281 BC) and was known also as: Hagioupolis, Nebi Huri. According to Gennadius of Massilia (died c. 496) name Cyrrhus was given to the city in order to commemorate Cyrus, king of Persia.1

Founded in Hellenistic period the city received the Hippodamian plan, which respected in the Roman and Byzantine periods.2
