Annotations

Modern village of Busaira ( Busayra, Busairah or Buseirah) in Tafilah Governorate, Jordan, Bozrah was a capital of Edom. According to the Old Testament, the city was the homeland of Jacob's twin brother, Esau. Bozrah means "sheepfold" - And the kings that ruled in the land of Edom, before the children of Israel had a king were these: Bela the son of Beer, and the name of his city Denaba. And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zara of Bozrah reigned in his stead [Genesis 36:31-33] .

Amos: I will send a fire into Theman: and it shall devour the houses of Bosra [Amos, 1.12] .
