Ancient Aianteion is located between Kumkale and İntepe (Erenköy) and ca 5 km from Troia. The name Aianteion – Mother Goddes is of Anatolian  not a Greek origin. According to the others after Aias, one of the Achaean heros city was named after Aias, one of the Achaean hero.
