Structure and Geography

The system consists of a raised earthen bank (agger) and a parallel ditch (fossa). It is divided into two main branches:

Brazda lui Novac de Nord (Northern Furrow): Stretching approximately 300 km, it begins near Drobeta (Mehedinți) and runs eastward across the Wallachian Plain toward Pietroasele (Buzău).
