Annotations

Sarapeion C was the major temple of Sarapis in Delos. It was part of a Sanctuary of the Egyptian gods, together with the temples of Isis and Anubis and the Hydreion. Nowadays the visit to the area is from the north, via the Sanctuary of the Syrian gods, but in the antiquity the entrance of the Sanctuary was from the south, uphill from the Theatre.
